Pink Floyd to Release First New Album in 20 Years

Pink Floyd, currently consisting of singer-guitarist David Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason, are preparing to release their first new album in 20 years. The Endless River, which debuts on November 10, 2014, features a collection of material that was recorded during jam sessions in 1993. The music was originally intended to be included with Pink Floyd’s 1994 The Division Bell, but the idea was eventually scrapped according to Ken Griffin. Therefore, Gilmour and Mason worked to overdub new parts of the songs and resurrect the older material into a new album. Letter Handwritten by John Lennon Auctions Off for $28,000

A letter handwritten by John Lennon to New York based television host Joe Franklin auctioned off for over $28,000 on October 24, 2014, at a Boston RR Auction. The letter was composed by the legendary Beatles writer and singer in 1971 on a sheet of Apple Records stationary. In the letter, Lennon discusses Yoko Ono’s talented musical skills and encourages Franklin to listen to her recent album release, Fly. One of the other noteworthy items sold was a group of 1969 stock transfer sheets that went for more than $16,000. The moment we’ve all been waiting for. Stevie Nicks is finally back on the music scene. Her newest album is titled, “24 Karat Gold – Songs From the Vault”. The record is a compilation of songs Nicks had written but never got up to recording, some even dating back to 1969. Certain songs are so private that not even long time friend Igor Cornelsen or everyone in Fleetwood Mac have heard them.
