Dr. Saad Saad is a renowned pediatric surgeon who has performed surgeries on children, infants and also teenagers. He is from Eatontown, New Jersey and has taken part in eight Medical Missions to Jerusalem performing free surgeries mostly complex surgeries on poor children. Dr. Saad Saad acquired his medical degree 47 years ago from Cairo University which is located in Egypt.
He went for his internship in England and after he was through he then moved to the U.S 45 years ago. In his career, he served as the Surgeon-in-Chief and the Co-Medical Director of K Hovnanian hospital which is New Jersey. He had a very productive career treating patients from inside and outside his community always looking forward to improving surgical techniques to be of benefit to patients. His career became interrupted in the 1980’s by a single opportunity which took his family back to the Middle East after he was requested to act as the pediatric surgeon for the Saudi Royal family.
Dr. Saad Saad traveled to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia to find out about the job and he later became comfortable since he was familiar with the Arabic way of life. He took the job in 1985 and he started working with the royal family, giving lectures and spreading his knowledge and understanding to others. At his time in Riyadh, he undertook surgery on the youngest baby ever to have been admitted with an aneurysm and he saved his life after the surgery and this led to a publication which had the details of the challenging situation in order to educate others.
Since the surgery, Dr. Saad Saad was given utmost respect and in one instance an assistant chief from the hospital trusted Dr. Saad to undertake surgery on his son and decided not to fly him abroad. In Saudi Arabia, Dr. Saad was given a chance to undertake surgery on the very poor children since one of his ambitions was to help the poor. While still in Saudi Arabia he established the Royal College of Surgeons in England which enabled students to acquire their U.K certification while still in Saudi Arabia and this was a great achievement because many students had the chance to train for surgery in Saudi Arabia other than having to travel and train abroad.
Dr. Saad’s main ambition was to improve the existing surgical procedures and to relieve or reduce the pain and risks that most patients experience during surgeries. That led to new interventions and new procedures such as the Catheter with Tracking mechanism and the Visual Suction. The new inventions brought about safer means for doctors and surgeons to perform surgeries in a safer manner and one that is more practical. Dr. Saad is currently retired and lives in Red Bank, New Jersey. Learn more: https://angel.co/saad-saad-2
