How Steve Ritchie is Listening to His People
The CEO of Papa John’s, Steve Ritchie is taking the time to listen to his people. After making a statement about the company culture and making sure that it’s encouraging and positive, he kept his word. He went out all around the country to talk to the franchisees, as well as to talk with employees that make the pizza and deliver the pizza. Although the journey may seem long for Steve Ritchie, these folks know that he is a mad of his word, and it was a great thing for the company to move in a new direction.
One of the first things Ritchie wanted to clarify with the franchisees and new team members, is that People Are Always a Priority (P.A.P. A.). His mission was to listen to their needs, and what they want out of their experience working with Papa John’s. In other words, how can Papa John’s do better?
Steve Ritchie Papa John’s believes that without his team the business doesn’t exist. Many of the franchisees shared with him that they believe their team members are an extension of their personal family. After all, don’t they spend many hours a day with them? Additionally, one of the main things these team members shared, is that they believe they can have more of an influence within the community.
What he saw is that the team members and the franchisees wanted to move forward and just be better It wasn’t about anything more than doing what they do best, and serving people. Out of his travels, he was sure that what he was hearing was more about sharing optimism and a clear vision for the future. The people felt if they joined together the results would be better.
This pizza company sees a brighter future ahead. They recognize that it isn’t about one person. It’s about a collective effort that puts people at the hub of the wheel. Finally, they are looking for feedback from the customers, and they want to know what the customers need from them. More news about Ritchie and his plan with Papa John’s.
