Fortress Investment Group is a highly successful alternative investment behemoth based in New York but with branches all over the world. The firm was established in 1998 and started with a value of $40 million but has rapidly grown over the years and was valued at $70.1 billion as of last year. Its success has been mainly as a result of its highly skilled principals led by Randal Nardone who has been serving as CEO since 2013. More about of Randal Nardone at newresi.com

Randal’s contribution

Ever since its inception, Randal Nardone has been an essential part of Fortress and has been presiding over some of its most successful ventures such as going public on the NYSE, hence making Fortress a trendsetter. Randal currently oversees various Fortress subsidiaries, and as a skilled accountant, he is also in charge of managing the client’s funds. Before being appointed CEO, Randal Nardone remained an integral part of the company as he served as interim CEO. In a nutshell, it would be biased if anyone was to mention the successes of Fortress without mentioning Randal’s contributions.

He remains an important part of Fortress even after its $3.3 billion acquisition by Softbank and will continue serving as the CEO as it remains an independent entity operating under the Japanese giant. Being positive is one among the many character traits that set him apart from most individuals in the affirmative world. He believes that being under Softbank will not only minimize the nerve-wracking processes they had to undergo while it was public, but also give more leverage to Fortress thanks to Softbank’s diverse network of business partners.

His contributions to Fortress have also benefitted him big time as he now ranks #557 on Forbes list as a self-made billionaire with a value of $1.8 billion.

Randal’s life before Fortress

It would be worth noting that despite his many accomplishments in the finance world, Randal Nardone was once a lawyer, and is even a JD holder from the school of law of Boston University. Randal also had the pleasure of serving as a partner at one of the most influential law firms, that is Thacher, Proffitt & Wood. He, however, shifted grounds after he realized that litigation wasn’t a perfect fit for him. Fortunately, his ability to adapt made it easy for him to stand out in finance, and soon after quitting litigation he got an opportunity to serve as Blackrock’s principal before moving to UBS where he served as managing director for a year and later left to establish Fortress. Besides his JD, Randal Nardone also holds two BA’s in English and biology.
