The RealReal year of the pop up
Luxury fashion consignor The RealReal has seen massive success in recent years and has decided 2018 is a year of expansion, through pop up stores. Originally an online only brand The RealReal has come a long way from the desktop, to opening their first brick-and-mortar store in New York City in 2017.
The RealReal has been making there mark in the fashion world, hosting events for their VIP shoppers which have included workshops such as “How to value a diamond” to history lessons on “The history of Chanel”. The company has managed to pull in employees from Sotheby’s and Gucci. Clearly proving their status as a reputable high fashion company The RealReal has brought in over 173 million dollars in pure venture funding! This has helped the store through its long building phase over the past several years.
Their first store has proven to be a massive success so far, and The RealReal hopes to expand their physical locations greatly over the next few years. But for 2018 pop-up shops, small stores which sell a selection of there products which they believe will most interest the consumers in the area, and are only open for a short period of time will be their primary focus. One of The RealReals pop-up shops in New York City already managed to bring in two million dollars in 2016! Another pop-up shop in San Fransisco not only brought in money through the physical store, but also caused a five hundred percent increase in online sales from the area.
The RealReal hopes to use the huge fanbase of online customers who have already showed their loyalty to the brand, into physical customers who will help the company blow up in coming years. Through the large funding of venture capitalists who see the great potential in this fashion consignment shop, The RealReal has managed to stake their claim in the fashion world and is quickly becoming one of the most popular online and soon physical fashion consignment stores.
