Mandera attended high school in the Chicago area and graduated in 1975 from which he went on to join the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves, where he was assigned to the motor pool. Here Perry went on to learn the various mechanics behind truck driving which he would later use in his transition back into civilian life after an honorable discharge. This was around the year of 1980 after which he went on to start his own company which he sold in 1985. From here Perry went on to fulfill his political hunger as the Republican ward committeeman for the 26th Ward in Chicago from 1984-1988, during which came the conception of Mandera’s most successful company, or rather conglomerate of companies, being named The Custom Companies, Inc. With time The Custom Companies, Inc became one of the most trusted transportation companies with clients ranging from small businesses to that of owners of Fortune 100 businesses. With this success came the philanthropic side of Perry Mandera. As the company grew Perry’s generosity did too. He made a point in giving back to the community in hard times and did just that. With tragedies such as hurricane Katrina and wildfires in California there came much need for community support and at these times Perry Mandera came through with donations of resources for those affected. In addition to this he would even donate winter coats to over 6,500 under privilege Chicago metropolitan area kids during the winter. This insatiable thirst for charity led to the creation of the Custom Cares charitable organization which allowed for tens of thousands to be donated to needy families by the Custom Companies, Inc conglomerate.
